    Hey John,

We have a furuno 620 now, and I think the koden was a CVS 126, the old box type.

It was a bloody good sounder with a through hull tranny, it was about $2000 in 1995 when dad bought it. We left the ramp one morning and the old girl just went, so it was turn around and put the boat back on the trailer. Not a good start to the day and ruined a fishing trip.

    Pazz

Thanks for the help.Definetly will look into the 1kw trannie as well - has anyone had the 600kw transducer
as it seems everyone recommends the 1kw above and fishing in depths up to 150m i thought may be the 600kw was sufficient?
Has anyone got any comments on a great GPS for it as well without blowing the pocket with it?

    Hi Bruce
Yes it is my first cat boat & had my eyes on the dominator for some time - i decided to go with the 7m (8100) boat.
It represented value for money - Definetly looked at Kevlacat & other cats and decided with the Markham after long deliberation
Can't wait - still quite a few weeks away yet.

Gday Zorro congrats on the new boat you'll luv it!!
Just a note i have the FCV 585 on my Dominator and as mentioned above best location for transom mount transducer is the extreme outside of the starboard sponson!
Also note that the floors in these boats are totally foam filled and totally sealed
with little or no acess to inside the sponson for a thru hull ducer
unless pre arranged with Markham!! There is very awkward access in the transom well!
The 1kw transom is a huge bugger and can effect the trim on the Dommys
so if your not bottom fishing more than 200mts depth the the P66 600watt model will be sufficent
    for what you need!

    Regards Frank
