Time to build a new rod.... This time for my 6 yo daughter... Suggestions?

Hi All,
It's my 6 year old daughters 7th birthday at the end of the month (26th July).
Since building my son a rod for his 16th birthday (Samurai NV-8), my little girl has expressed much interest in the two of us building a rod together.
I should add, she loves fishing, so it will get a lot of use.
Regardless, being 6-7 years old, it'll likely cop a beating, so I'd like to keep it to a (cheap) budget.
It'll have to be a black blank (unless someone's selling pink ones!) with pink binding and grips.
What would you guys suggest for a blank in the 2-4kg range. Probably 5'6"-6'.
Maybe a Kilwell kit?

Hi Damned

Mudhole in USA have cheap rod building blanks and kits in pink, green, blue and purple. They have a range of sizes from 4'6" through to 6'6" in all these colours. You can get pink grips and reel seats also from them also.

They are IM6 graphite, the blanks are priced at $18USD. You can get holographic guides cheap that may look good etc.

My daughter is only 6 weeks old, but have still been looking at this stuff already

Thanks for that. Just found the pink rod with holographic guides in a kit form over on Mudhole. The shipping scares me though. I'm always cautious of 'cost calculated upon shipment'.
Anyone had anything shipped over from hudhole, and what was the shipping fee like?

Shipping is excellent from Mudhole. I regularly buy 7 foot rod blanks from them with all the components. Shipping is usually around $35. Will probably be less with a 5 - 6foot rod blank.

It is extremely quick, usually within 5-6 days to your door.

Steve, I still need to get off my buttocks and email a request for a shipping quote, but they have a nice little kit there for about $70 (with the harelquin guides).
