    Raymarine S1000 Autopilot help

    Hey people,

Hoping someone has a simple solution for this, otherwise it's looking expensive.

Have an S1000 Autopilot installed and has been working perfectly since I have had it, until last week. First I noticed that it would hold it's heading for a period of time and then seemed to switch off. As time went on, it wouldn't hold heading at all and I then noticed that the computer was working fine and engaging the pump but there was no response through to the motors.

I have since checked the fluids and re bled the system and it still operates (I can engage in manually and it it getting power to the pump) and I can hear and feel the pump operating but still - no movement of the engines.

It is looking like something has gone inside the pump.

Q - Has anyone had any similar problems with these pumps letting go inside
Q - Is there a simple fix or repair to the pump
Q - Am I missing something and it's not the pump at all

Also, if I am up for a new pump, does anyone know where to source on on it's own. I have searched the net and there are a couple in the US but for a huge price.

It's the Raymarine "Protor" pumpset type 1A

    Cheers

    Re: Raymarine S1000 Autopilot help

    Thanks Garry,

This one is a 2006 model, and after speaking with them I was none the wiser. "check that it's getting 12v" was the extent of the advice. Even though that was helpful, I am not thinking they are going to come to the party on this one.

    I will try again though.

    Cheers.
