    Handle bearing in luvias 2000?

I replaced my Luvias knob today with a cork handle. It took me a bit to work out why it was so loose and I had to dig to get the white bush out but managed to work it out. I only used 2 of washers supplied should I of put all four in ? ( 5 in total once there fitted )

Can I purchase a actual bearing to fit into place instead of the bush? Would it make much difference? A bearing would always be nicer then a plastic bush...

Jump on US ebay and you may find a seller that has bearings listed for certain areas of the reel where a bearing can replace a bush. I've been looking at one where he sells a bearing to replace the bush under the spool on a bradia.

Do you have a link for the seller?

Edit, I found a seller on there. I found the under spool bearing and a handle bearing. I am unsure if the luvias has a line roller bearing. It says on the eBay add they do?.

Is there much benefit for the under spool bearing?

Re: Handle bearing in luvias 2000?

Hi 004dam, I have upgraded the following bearings on the certate, which will fit the Bradia and Luvias:

    Spool Bearing
    2 x Handle Bearings
    Line Roller bearing

The Certate comes with a line roller bearing, however this bearing is always prone to failure. Because the line roller directs wets line onto the spool (especially salt water) then you are getting a small amount in the bearing easch time you fish. It makes for a fast failure. I oil etc each time - still happens. The plastic bushing does a good job here and wont corrode.

If ordering the bearings, get a line roller bearing cause it will undoubetly fail soon.

I got all mine Fleabay. He also had Carbontex drag washers for the certate - another nice upgrade.

    Regards Adam

Mate take the collar to CBC bearings and they can order a bearing for you or if you live near Logan then miniture bearings at mansfield will be able to help you.

thanks heaps mate, Daiwa quoted me about 14$ + GST for the spool bearing and they couldnt price a knob bearing as you can only buy the bearing and bushing as thats what comes with the certates. I will check out a bearing shop next time I get a chance. I should be be able to find something the exact size to suit.

Did you notice alot from upgrading the bearing? Do you know if it interferes with the RCS spools as I am looking to buy one IF i can find one for a good price. I don't see why it would effect it though.

    thanks heaps.

I wasnt sure If my luvias had a bushing or bearing on the line roller. I would have to pull it off and have a quick look.

Re: Handle bearing in luvias 2000?

I have just fitted RCS 2508 spool to mine and the spool bearing doesn't interfere with the spool ,I even removed the bearing and checked in the new spool ,all okay. The only thing I have noticed is that the shaft does not stick out as far on the RCS spool as it does with the old spool fitted, that is through the drag washers. Is any one aware if more drag washers are fitted on RCS spools than originals?
