The Dubbo produced fishing DVD “Full On Fishing Adventures” is nearing completion, as shooting at locations such as Lake Burrendong, Lake Windamere, Cairns, The Daintree River, and Darwin draws to a close for the feature length sports fishing film.
Anglers Scott Watkinson, Dallas Ridley and I have been working on the production for the last twelve months, managing to catch some of Australia’s most beautiful and scenic landscapes in high definition recording, with local producer Michael West presenting the footage in a fast paced entertaining tone full of fishing facts.
Species targeted on the movie length DVD include Golden Perch, Redfin, Murray Cod, Mangrove Jack, Barramundi, Spanish Mackerel, Black Jew, and a large range of salt water reef species.
The production team behind “Full on Fishing Adventures” was also lucky enough to catch some bizarre footage of three Golden Perch caught in one cast, which may be a world first caught on film, along with a huge day at Burrendong where 287 Redfin came on board in 4.5 hours of fishing.
The DVD not only aims to showcase both freshwater and saltwater fishing at its best, but looks to give anglers tips on tackle, tactics, and insight into local knowledge as guest anglers who have finely tuned their skills on their home turf take the “Full On Fishing Adventures” team out to some frontiers of the fishing world, in search of trophy fish.
Another memorable chapter of the DVD sees the team take to the deep blue continental shelf off Cairns in search of monster Mackerel, where the boys are lucky enough to boat 13 massive Mackerel for the day, with one huge specimen of around 70 pounds making it to the gaff!
Sharks, crocs and snakes all were a common occurence for the filming crew at many of the locations, keeping the team behind “Full on Fishing Adventures” on their toes for the duration of the fishing flick.
The DVD will be available later in the year, with the final cut being made by producers over the coming weeks. In the meantime, the “Full on Fishing Adventures” team will travel to the gulf region of Australia for one last dash to gather some last minute footage, targeting Barramundi, Mangrove Jack, a host of reef species, and again Cairn’s monster Spanish Mackerel.
