Has anybody come up with a solution to the rubber things on the motor support brackets that stuff up after only a couple of trips and take the paint off the motor?
I have tried a few things over the years and I have had limited success but I am just wondering whether anybody has come up with something more reliable and permenant.
I had the same difficulty on my last rig. I overcame the problem by tightly binding on some old anchor rope which was still there when i sold the boat years later. Funny but this never happened on my mew outfit which has the same rubber styled motor support bracket.
Thats not a bad idea.I might have to give that a go.
I think it might have a bit to do with the width of the leg and the fact that the bracket bends out when it gets lowered into it.
Cheap and cheerful suggestion...I use discount car mat rubber for lots of things - you can pick up a pair of mats from KMart for less than $10 at times. Cut to size with a pair of scissors, wrap it around the prongs and cable-tie on. Won't take you more then 5 minutes either.
