Off Road Campsites?
Hi Yawl
I like a bit of space around me when I go camping, in fact if I see anyone I want to move on, except for places like Northwest and Musgrave island the less people the better. We go to a 5000Ha cattle property in northern NSW up river from Grafton mostly but if it rains enough then you aint getting back out of there until it stops and dries out. Needless to say this year it has not happened for obvious reasons. The place is far enough west to miss a lot of the coastal squalls usually.
Just wondering if any one knows of another option within a few hours of Ballina, ideally with a river campsite. The other place only has 3 campsites well apart on the property so it is basically yours and the cocky charges 20 a night flat. this place has a long drop at the site(not a requirement) but apart from that if you dont bring it you cant get it. I do not have a camper trailer but friends do and have taken them in but the road is challenging. Old mate did drop his trailer off the side of the track once and was very lucky not to be pulled over with it, he has not been back.
Thanks
Glenn

Yes Brett and murf
I am talking about Wave hill station and it is a top spot but I am looking to find another option with similar isolation within range of Ballina, any ideas?

an easy 4WD out back of Grafton is Nymboida NP, Bass fishing not the same as the gorge but a nice river and an old stockmans hut there for a look
