Some more Hervey Bay Snapper ....

Had Billfish & a couple of mates up for the June long weekend - which turned on some challenging weather. This appears to be a pattern with Billfish in the bay - so I suggest checking if he will be in the area before arranging any future trips

After the coldest day in Qld for decades & rain verging on sleet , Monday dawned cool & clear. We started in the bay fishing teh artificial reefs to no avail so a decision was made to run up the Island for the afternoon with the SW'er dropping off .....

I actually grabbed the wrong outfit & ended up fishing with my new Stella 3000 FE & G.Loomis Drop shot combo with 15lb Power pro & 20lb leaders - which made for some exciting fishing.Bill doing a great job on the net & camera

Finished up with a couple over 5kgs - one at around 4.5kgs , one at 50cm & lost the last good one to the resident grouper The Squidgy Pro 140 Wriggler is my new favourite snapper plastic - with S-Factor of course

It was great having the boys up again - shame about the weather - See ya's next trip

You using an SLR or compact for those shots Scott? Im in the market for a point and shoot camera at the moment. Carrying around my SlR is a pain in the neck. Those shots are nice and sharp and colours are great.

These are all shot with my Canon D40 SLR with 580 speedlight & 10-22mm lense - theres just no substitute for a good quality camera. I also have an Olympus MJU 720 ( New model is Tough 810 ) - great little compact & water proof as well.

    Regards Scotto
