undersize fish

There was a good article in the local paper about fish sizes, and the $400 fines associated with the offence......
Just haven't got a brag mat on the canoe, not a convenient place, but need to keep an eye on it....

Yeah, i never chance it by only keeping fish that are at least 1-1.5cm over legal. I have an issue with those keeping undersized fish. I was out a Harry's a while ago, and a boat that was very close landed an nice little Jew. It was clearly undersized (from my perspective, anyway). By my guess, from where I was, it was probably mid-60s, still a nice catch, but undersize nonetheless. Anyway, our boats were close and it was a calm day. I could see one of the three on board looking through the Fisheries booklet (and they'd just had the fisheries boat alongside checking their catch less than 30 min before hand, and probably where they go the booklet from!). Anyway, I could clearly hear someone say 'That's bullsheet, is there another type of Jew in there?'. That fish did not make it back to the water.
I don't know what the point of this story is, but some people just don't seem to care, even with the info right at their fingertips.
Am I perfect? Hell no. I've mistakenly kept undersized fish when my ruler/pamphlet has been out of date and the rules have changed.

Guess if people never catch any fish and they get one... still it's the wrong thing to do.
Hardly see fisheries inspectors up here Sunny Coast.

I think that sometimes ppl might miss identify the catch. If im not sure what it is it goes back over the side. No way im risking my hard earned for a fish. I have seen ppl fishing of wharves in Sydney keeping bream the size of whiting. I wanted to push them in the drink. But four or five of them one of me....what do you do?
