split screen with bottom lock. The bottom lock feature will iron out the zoomed screen and only show you anything above the bottom ie it will be a flat looking bottom with rises and fish above it. I have no pics sorry
Does anyone have any pictures of there Lowrance HDS in bottom lock mode with GPS running aswell ??
I want to start using this function for bottom bouncing but not to sure what it should look like on the screen and any tips from people running this function would help heaps .
Thanks
Brett

Captain Seaweed, Does the GPS still show up on the screen in the Split/Bottom lock mode ?
If the GPS is on the screen with the bottom lock is it possible to resize the display to make the bottom lock and GPS the same size and the normal sonar 1/2 the screen. I had a look in the manual and couldn't find this information out.
Cheers
Brett
mate to answer your question yes the GPS can be shown with the bottom lock.
To use bottom lock you split your sonar screen using the soft key button so it shows 1/2 bottom and 1/2 normal sounder.
Adjust panel sizes of GPS & Sonar as per usual.
Thanks Novice23, I will give it ago next time I get in the boat.
Cheers
Brett
Try this mate .... its only a HDS8 ... so you'll need to squint !
Pretty sure I had it on bottom lock ... I think ??????

Thanks Honda900, OK cool I will have a play.
In the process of moving to a bigger place at Birkdale so I can keep my boat at home, Its going to be a lot easier to fiddle with different settings.

Joe,
Not building blocks, concrete, split screen in the right hand panel, in my driveway, no fish to show..

HOnda.
Its a shame I cant split the sonar horizontal to show more bottom. or have the GPS 1/4 screen, bottom lock 1/4 screen and normal sonar 1/2 screen.... similar to Structure Scan setup... or can I and I just haven't worked it out yet properly.
Cheers
Brett
You can have bottom lock, sonar and chart showing all at once. We use the bottomlock for finding crayfish ledges. We fish in 2 metre swells so it removes this influence from the screen otherwise you think there are big drop offs everywhere.
