Shot out to middle of bay for new ground to try out my new tyrnos 20 and 400 jigstick for offshore with mates boat as ##### all sports is having a 30% off all gear for 2 weeks now so went deep and bait as new moon is my only bait times so dropped it over with my 4000 twin power on t curve to see what i could hook up on. I needed to cast a bit to get to the spot as another boat was in the way a bit but we shared it and it went off like a bullet. The fight was totally different to 20 pound as i had 30 pound and i had a good hold on it so not a 45 minute fight trying to turn the head but still a lot of weight in 65 feet plus water and landed it after wearing it out as i am solo so hard to net (with my brim net lol) a head that size with 1 hand and hols it by the boat but i am used to it and funny as the tyrnos came up after with a 20cm squire (the fish got mixed up on which rod to hit) a shark later which was hardly felt on the big rod awsome when i get it out in the deep but the little rod went like it always does beaute. Shut down at high (opposite to reef edges) so went home with a good feed as i hooked a 43cm later on and let the shark go as i got what i came for as we have all had it slow on the reds this year i have heard bar a few lucky buggers (last friday 3 guys landed 12 snapper from 4 to 5 kilo and the big boy was 75cm and 5.5 kilo offshore head on him) damb i went to green and got undersized all night but thats fishing. Anyho i see if i can post photos as i had to wait until someone past at ramp at 1030 pm to take a photo of the fish to proove i hooked it.
