Anybody who believes that netting anytime let alone during migratory spawning runs obviously does not go fishing much! If that is your belief then you had better learn a few more fishing stories from the good old days cause thats all that will remain!

You must be kidding aren't you Captain....? Aren't the other species you mentioned part of the by-catch? Cannot these species be caught from the beach? Or are the netters using smart nets that don't catch the aforementioned species...?

it would be such a shame to see all the netting stopped, netting has been going on for a long time and if it were so devastating then there would be no fish left already.everyone needs a job.i dunno about smart nets but the halfa dozen or so times that ive been netting,i was suprised with the small amount of bycatch but i guess im biased.

    "smart nets" hehehehehehehe
they net with 3 inch up to 3 and 3/4 i think it depends on how large the mullet are.

They should not be allowed to sell or even possess by catch,if they are licensed to catch mullet that is all they should be allowed to keep. This will stop the excuse of catching other fish, if you can't keep them then you wouldn't catch them if possible or secretly target them.
