    there here

When for a late night excursion in the neighbors rum runner over to rainbow and the 1 mile stretch chasing one of my favorites.
Fished thru the low and into the wee hours, with the bay at its best.
Used some live squid we picked up on the weed beds in rainbow, as we couldnt find any choppers or pike around Dunwich or peel.
So livies only consisted of squid, with fresh mullet a secondary option.
Took till the turn for the action to happen and it happen on two rods, both with squid swimming around below, the mullet didnt draw any attention.
End up with two and that was it.
Hung around for sometime, so decided to brew up a coffee on one of those portable gas stoves that come in a box.
Hadn't use it for some months, and didnt bother to check the seal on the canister.
Lit the burner and next instance we had a fire, luck we had it on the bait board over the motor, i immediately grabbed the whole case and over the side it went, this all happened in the same instance as lighting it, my hand came off worse for the incident and ended up with burns to all the knuckles, which were pretty bad, a detour to hospital on the way home.
The hand was soaked in a bucket of cold water all this time to help stop further damage. (bloody lucky the doctor said)
    regards

Think of the upside. At least you won't have to worry about the fingers on your left hand getting sunburnt for a while.

    Nice fish, as always.

Sorry to hear of your accident. Lessons for all of us from that, I reckon.

That was close. Lucky you didnt fire it up in the cabin. Those Silvers would have knocked the pain level down a notch or two. Great fish

    I feel your pain.

Did the same thing myself with one of those little canister stoves. The notch on the gas canister was not secured in the lug and it leaked sending flames everywhere...luckily I was dry land at the time. Now I always double check it's fitted properly before lighting.
