Re: where to get a new Perspex windscreen

Picked up all the original paperwork for my boat off Reelax yesterday and on the first boat they used a mob called AJ plastics, 18 Pedder St Albion and the second one which was glass they used Taylor-Sandbrook Pty Ltd, PO Box 1000, 43 Randall St, Slacks Ck for a 5 piece one.

Got mine done at "blue water windscreens". They did a great job, cost $450 by memory.

Re: where to get a new Perspex windscreen

Thanks for all your help guys..

So far I have spoken with all the referred companies on page one, I also chased up the Hains Group, who were a great help..

I had quotes ranging from $200 to $500 just for the Acrylic screen and I install, which would be easy enough... But as 2 off the operators mentioned, I may not be able to remove the screen due to the stainless screws and Aluminium window frame corroding to one another.. I was told if that is the case and whole new windscreen would be needed and the frame would be damaged trying to remove the screws.. Price went up to $800 to $1000... And I am sure once they see the amount off curves that are in the seafarer screen the price will rise a bit..

I then contacted Hains Group and they put me onto the original windscreen manufacture (ALFAB) for Seafarer when Lindsay on the company.. A complete screen, original shape for $1265 for Glass $1061 for acrylic... That's cool, cause Im going to put it through insurance and will cost me $500 for the access... Best bit is because it is original, my clears will still fit..

Here is a pic off the crack
