Really guys, this is no more than a commonsense approach to fisheries management. Certainly the F & S party have an agenda and will push the agenda at all possible times and let's not forget, the current NSW government went into the election with this on the table. It was not a secret backdoor deal.

Nice to see some common sense prevail. Interesting how the news report uses several clips of bream competitions but fails to mention the fact that these fish are released unharmed. I think these mungbean gobbling lock everything up greeny's think we all go around killing every fish we catch. Reality is I, as I believe most fishers, rarely keep a fish unless its well over legal limit and want a feed. Good news.

I think you will find everyone of us does care about sustainability . but only if it is done with real science not pandering to the extreme greens .

Yeah, thats what im saying, i have a background in science and access to all the relevant journals and just dont understand how these parks are a bad thing. (kinda like when people say there is science to say climate change doesnt exist) Anyways, there have been many posts on this before so i'll leave it there.

Pretty easy (and understandable I guess) to support "the journals" and "the Science" when if you don't you lose your paycheck. The people here rely on observation and experience. They're in huge supply among Fishos, but Green Scientists lack it. Lock, stock and barrel.

Ah, drop the bait and run? Very, very few people say climate change doesn't exist, and they're whackos. And I doubt there's any good Science saying so. That is quite obviously an inflammatory (and quite gutless) remark, and pretty damn typical of those who have dropped skepticism and objectivity and taken up the Religion of Gaia.

Awesome.....Finally they speak some LOGIC.

Fishermen on the whole are a responsible bunch and wish to conserve fish stocks more than anyone.

Bag limits etc......fine.....but lock outs must be buried forever....Lets hope QLD follows and Anna Bligh gets a flogging..!!
