11kg Nauru Wahoo

Hey all,
the boy and I went in the Consitiution Day fishing tournament here today and got an 11kg wahoo, on a blue/pink wiliamson wahoo catcher out from the Menen Hotel. (my son is holding the lure in the pic )
We got back and were in 1st place for a while till a few more boats came back. We were hoping to stay in the prizes, but got bumped by a two ~50kg marlin and a 15kg yellowfin tuna caught by the president of Nauru...hmmpfh...Politicians.

My son recommended the lure so we gave it a go an we were on...should be a prize for fighting, gaffing and batting a fish all on ur own...can be quite a challenge
Most of the boat got into the skipjack...the biggest total catch was ~339kg!
Looks like it'll be fish'n'chips for lunch and fish for dinner around the island for a while

Yeah the boy was stoked...apparently he takes credit for the catch since he picked the lure...
We got a 7.5kg hoo this morning too on the same pink/blue wahoo catcher by williamson...so that makes it a 2-hoo catcher now...quickly becoming "our" favourite lure
