i really want one too....they look the goods...basically they are the next level up from the SOL the main feature being all of the bearings are corrosion resistant..i say do it man if you have used any of the Diawa spin reels this one feels like the rest of the range but lust a tad more durable........oh and just as important that awesome anodised black!!!

I don't regret buying mine. Also bought a Sol and a Stradic at the same time (all similar sizes). The Heartland is by far and away my favourite.

thats what they were made for, all stainless ball bearings mine show no sign of salt damage after numerous salt trips

these are a really great reel, next step up from the sol as the heartland has an extra bearing and all the bearings are corrosion resistant (stainless). tough as nails, great drag.. the rods are really nice as well.. bought one a month ago in a 2500 size with heartland rod and will be adding a 4000 soon. definately recommend one

Re: Daiwa Heartland XA spin reels

no not real good for that too slow for most slugs ,imo i think it makes the reel work too hard ,if you want to chase the pelagics go a faster retreive reel i use the okuma epix range ,the new one out now went briliantly last weekend on the longtails

or if you are looking at Daiwa look at either a Seagate 3500, saltist 4500 or if the budget allows it a Catalina 4500H as you will never break this
