    Does anyone own a Contender

    All,

I'm looking at a Contender 25 Open but wondering how they would handle Nth QLD water.

Anyone own one in Australia and share their experiences?

Gteat boat as long as you don't mind getting wet a little.
No problem handling the chop at great speed, they are built for speed and chop.
make sure she has heaps of HP. Twin 250's would be nice, they ahave huge fuel tanks , around the 700 lts on the 25.
I have been on a 23 with twin 175 Optis, she handles the rough very well and good for 60 knots.

I hope you are buying one in Florida, much cheaper there .

    Scott,

I dont have a 25 open, but I do have a 23T(25T). The 25 open are now called 28T. Contender are naming the boats after their LOA (previously waterline length - as per tournament rules). I know of at least one 25 open in Oz, it is in sydney.

The 25 open is highly regarded in the US as a fast and fuel efficient hull. I think a 28 foot very deep V should be able to handle most NQ conditions. The faster it goes the better the ride. It has a massive fuel tank and almost 400nm range.

My boat has been a dream, excellent performance, tonnes of storage, great to fish from and easy to clean.
