Just in the process of having 2 weeks off and feeling pretty good too. With the weather looking pretty good on Tuesday thought i might hit Mud for a change. Havent been there in quite a while. Left Fisherman island at 530am and headed first to Green island for a try. Caught about 8 Squire and 3 Sweeties. One Squire was 42cm so in the bin also got smashed using 6lb braid and 12lb leader reckon by the head shakes it was a decent Snapper. Then off to Mud. Drifted all the usual spots for zip not even a scale or one hit. Went trolling metals for 45 minutes also squat then tried a spot that must be the local fish kindergarden as i always catch plenty of just undersize Snapps. It was no different must have thrown back 30 at 34cm (i only keep Snapper over 40cm) then a 40cm in the bin followed by a 57cm model also in the bin and then a 65cm Lizzard in the bin. Was also smashed to pieces by another monster head shaker. Great day with a good feed for my gang.
Wednesday off to the Pine for some Lizzards. Caught over 30 and kept my bag limit of 5 all over 45cm biggest 57. I have never seen Flathead so pissed off. They were doing back flips and somersaults got spiked 6 times. I never get spiked if you hold them right. Another great day out and some fish in the freezer. Tip: all fish at Mud were caught on Lime Tiger 4 inch and in the Pine all caught on Mister Twister Twistermites . Peter.
