Awesome! I remember catching jewies at the fishing park in Ballina that had deformed jaws too.

If i get busy right now I could tee everything up for an over nighter in time for the weekend......but i just know when I get there they will be quiet or more probably i will wander aimlessly still having fun but mostly missing out because of my lack of genuine knowledge..or a bit of both!

Thanks for the post it was a right good one!
Well it looks like I'll be heading down with a couple of mates in the last weekend in May.. Willing to show you the ropes down there if you have a bit of time..

there's not much too it but there are a couple of little things that make a big difference !

Seriously nice of you Richard thankyou, as my daughter is getting older now almost all things like this are pretty much resigned to family affairs if they happen at all, this understandably can cramp others style somewhat so I will not threaten to cramp yours like this LOL.

Still i am having lots of trouble getting your original post out of my mind, been a long time since I visited for a fish and there is no nicer place closer to Cairns.

If I can talk the wife into it we might head down with the boat for a play sometime soon-ish, when I know I will PM to see if dates overlap, wander down for a chat and some good advice (already planing to get a hold of a couple of those lures) or say gday on the water/whatever.

    cheers

Goes to show it really depends on the week you fish.

I was there the week before easter and the fishing wasnt that flash in the creeks.
Strong SE winds, overcast days and was lucky to raise a scale..

Wasnt till good friday-sunday that the fish came back on the chew with the sunny and warmer weather..
