Re: Guide selection help
Ian, I recently built up a couple of Bream rods from the Samurai Premium range for Frogleys and for articles in Fishing World. Actually there were three blanks and one was with the super expensive Titanium TKTSG's. They were all 7' long. I also used some of the KTSG series guides, being 2 x 6, 7, 8, 10, 16 and 25 and a BMNAT tip. I added 1 more of the size 6 guides into the recipe because I reckon the blanks needed the 1 extra guide up towards the tip to better load the blank.
The blanks are excellent. They were the BR201-C which is a brilliant very fast action blank for 2-3kg, the second was a BR203C which is the same line rating as the BR201 but with a slower action suited for hard body lure/poppers etc. The third was the SPSN302-C which is a little heavier at 3-5kg. All excellent blanks for what you want. I would also look at a UC70XL from United Composites USA. These are a really nice blank with a little thicker wall construction than the Samurai. The action is fast/moderate (nowhere near as fast as some of the Samurai blanks).
Regards

Re: Guide selection help
Ian ,im in the process of building a cts 2-6 and it's a surprising blank with black recoils almost the same recipe as Marks needing 7 guides . 7l,7,8,10,12,16,25.Rebuilt a samurai premium 2-4 with recoils recently for a customer. The cts is a tiny bit slower than the samurai.
