Nice work Chris. But you seem capable. I can't imagine what the Dudds could do with that scenario. Makes me shudder just to think of it..
I think you've been watching me with my 625. Firstly I tie up to the pontoon - fishing midweek usually no people waiting - back the car down, then drive the boat on with no dramas and out of the water in minutes.
I like your work.
Cheers.
Show off :-)
Angla,
If you fit a hook and cable like I have, then you just drive on, turn off the engine & lift it. Hop out over the front like you, secure the chain and then drive off, no getting back into the boat.
Maturity is not when we start speaking BIG things,it is when we start understanding small things
That's how I do it on my own aswell.
I had a few guys have a go at me for leaving the motor in gear while I was hooking up the winch rope once. I just said well I am still faster then you guys on my own, so maybe YOU need to change your ways !! With that in mind the motor is only reving enough to stop the boat from rolling back so not much over idle.
Cheers
Brett
Nice work
Think that you should invest in a boat latch or similar though, makes it easier again
Good to see someone capable
Cheers
Bill
Yep, just get the latch, leaving it in gear is a just a bit to scary.
why is it scary leaving it in gear?
As shown in the video clip, its very obviously possible to be both fast and safe..........
Not too hard with a roller trailer as it is self aligning but a lot harder with skids and centre roller
I can't see the scary bit neither. I generally pull the motor back to a low rev so it just holds the boat there enough. if I was to stop the motor it would fall back into the water. I have been doing this method of retrieval since buying this boat in 2003
I might install a latching system if I start beach launching and retrieval.
On a different thought
In case you cannot see the action....I winch the strap tight and then latch a very short safety chain.
Cheers
Chris
Yep. same as me.
I will be investing in a latch very soon.
The hardest part about launch and retrieve by yourself, is trying to remember where ya parked the car
Cheers LP.
