Rod sellers OS
Has anyone found anywhere OS that's good value for rods when shipping is taken into account? Freight from Basspro etc seems to make it not viable.
Thanks

American Legacy Fishing - but better if you buy more than one rod. Found them to be very fast and reliable.

Re: Rod sellers OS
People simply need to face the fact that if they want gear from overseas the freight is quite alot. I've bought many items where the freight makes the item more expensive than here. So the only solution is to do a large order, it's that simple. If you only want one rod find others to order with you or see if they have other smaller items that will fit in the same packaging that you want eg line, lures. These extra spreads the freight out. From my dealings with companies in america shipping is based mostly on weight and value. I asked this recently as I was chasing a 7'6 blank over a 7'.
Some will have freight cheaper than others but usually not too much if they are reputable sellers. Cheap freight usually mean no insurance so no claim if it shows up broken or not at all. Also its not as easy to do the trick through paypal or what ever to say that they didn't send it because they have the custom forms to support they sent it.
cheers

Hey Backhoe, me and a mate just bought in 4 rods from American Legacy totaling US$960 and they shipped by Fedex to my door for free, they arrived in 8 days. During negotiations they stated only orders over US$1000 are shipped for free but we come up short with US$960 and they were ok with that. Didnt want to be over the AUS$1000 and having to pay duty when they arrived this end.
