    piney to cabbage

gday, went to the piney last monday to change over from the old trailer to the new one. was quiet below the water line but very busy above. never seen so many boats. Dropped one lizard and managed to catch a GT which was a surprise. all in all was pretty quiet.

Today - I was planning on going to North Pine Dam to give my new small homemade timber punt a go but realised the permit doesnt start until the 3rd May so couldnt get access. Decided to put in Cabbage tree creek near home and have a run and test out the new electric motor. Trolled a rmg scorpion around and managed a 57cm flattie and a half decent bream. Was a good relaxed morning and a good way to wet the punt for the first time. much more peaceful than the old two stroke!

    cheers

Good stuff, mate. That GT's a fair hike upstream! Amazing what's turning up in cabbage tree too, nowadays. Got a queenie in there last month, much to my surprise. Great stuff with the lizard, too, seem to be a few around there. Also been a few on livies near the vmr, one of em went 85!

wow, a queenie. was it a southern one or a northern queenie? That would be fun. I have been a bit unlucky on the big flatties with a couple of monsters spitting the hook at the boat which stil gives me the shites when i think about it. But thats fishing and keeps coming back for more. Cheers!
