FURUNO 620 output of waypoint to Garmin 178C GPS?

Hi all - hooked up my Furuno sonar to my Garmin today. I can no see lat and long on the Furuno when I hit mark on the Furuno and can save them. I have selected NMEA in and out on both units to set them up. The 620 says it can output TLL or Furuno TLL to send lat and long as saved on the Furuno to a GPS. I have it on TLL.

The GPS manual says it will accept data in...but I cannot see where the mock points from the Furuno are saved or accessible in the GPS....anyone know if you can do it so you can navigate to a spot as saved on the sounder?

I suppose if I cant do what I would like, I can navigate to waypoint using the Furuno's Nav screen getting position info from the Garmin...not elegant and no chart, but at least you have the bearing, distance to point...

Scott, I have a 585 interfaced to a Ray C80. Do not use the Mark function on the 620. Use the Garmin mark function & the waypoint will show depth & temp (if available) in your Garmin waypoints.
If you mark using the 620 the transfer of detail to your plotter does not happen. The marks stay in the 620. I cannot explain this but that is how it is.
    ROLL TIDE, ROLL.................

    G'day ozscott,
I also have a FCV 620 and I am currently connecting it to a HDS7m Lowrance. From all the reports that I've read on the Furuno the TLL function will only work with compatible Furuno plotters. Refer Page 37 of your manual. Hope this helps. As Peter was saying, your better off using the Garmin to mark the waypoint.

The beauty of doing this is if you miss a high spot or something hit mark on the Furuno, use the Furuno cursor to scroll onto the high spot or fish show or whatever then hit mark a second time. The Furuno will then show Long and Lat on the screen. Transfer that to your plotter manually, the only thing is it exactly where you want it.

As mentioned you need a Furuno plotter that accepts TLL sentances to go straight in.
