    Sounder problem

    Hi guys,
seem to be having some sort of power supply interuption. All my electrics ect work fine except after turing off the motor then restarting, my sounder powers off and when I press the start button on the furuno it powers up again without any problem.? This doensn't happen every time but enough to be a pain. Is it a power drain problem. I run a dual battrey set up, but usually only on battery 1, should I use 1&2 battery set up or what configuration?
    Thanks

    Re: Sounder problem

Is your switch panel bus bar connected to your start battery?

If so change your switch panel power to your house battery and try that......Really it should not matter........

Maybe you are getting a voltage drop when starting.......from memory the furuno should require around 10.5v to keep operating.........they do have a low voltage protection/cut out...........or it could be going out on high volts of around 18v........that would suggest that your reg/rectifier is playing up.

Bring up your volts on the unit and see whats going on.

    Re: Sounder problem

My Gps and sounder both did that on occasions. Bought brand new batteries 2 years ago and no problems since.
The motor (115 2 stroke) starts much better too.
Seems the batteries were not up to starting the motor and keeping the electronics running.
