    Whiting PB

Went for a late flick this morning water is very brown and horrible even at the mouth of mooloolah river. Still managed a couple of fish 25ish cm bream and a couple of rat pike. Hooked upto what I'm pretty sure was a cod but was shaking around too much and i couldn't do anything and it threw the hooks.

On my way home I saw a patch of water that looked flat as and I've never fished before so I thought I might as well try. Couple casts in I hooked upto some on the chubby for the first time I couldn't tell what it was even when I saw it it didn't look like a whiting. Finally had it near enough to the shore to grab my leader and get it on the bank. My First whiting on a lure and a PB at the same time. Stoked

I sat it on my rod to try and work out a size. Measured my rod when i got home to roughly 38cm.

That's a nice whiting, gotta be stoked with that. I was considering have a flick in that area the other day myself. Shame about the water quality, hopefully it will clear fairly quick. I'm hoping to get in a fish again next weekend.

Have you tried the water over near that new development on maroochy boulevard? The boss said he saw some guy there the other week and pulled a good trevally.

    Cheers

I don't really fish maroochy much at all. I find mooloolah river to be pretty reliable to find a trev or two.
