    Hinchinbrook Is.

    Hi all,

In late may my old man, a few uncles and some cousins and i have a houseboat booked from cardwell, and we intend on spending a week fishing the creeks in missionary bay. My uncle does the trip as an annual event and has some knowlege of the area, but im just chasing some info from fishos who have some decent knowlege of the area.

Im hoping that the weather might allow us to do some reef fishing but as i only have a 4.2m quintrex with a 40hp yamy, im limited with how far i can go. In calm conditions i do go up to 18mile out from bundaberg but thats about as far as im willing to go.

Are there any decent reefs within this range from missionary bay? if so can anyone give me some starting points or general directions, mayby some gps marks? I dont expect any hotspots but just some areas where we can start sounding around to find some good ground if the weather allows us to get out there. Any help would be appreiciated.

How is the fishing been lately after the rain and flooding after Yasi? Should i expect some good fishing?

I hope im not to buggered for the Hinchinbrook trip, got a big few weeks.
I Leave for a fishing trip to the Robinson River in the Territory on the 27th April, Back home to Bundy by the 16th May, Unload ,clean up, load up again and up to Hinchinbrook for a week on the 20th May. Cant wait!!!

And then back to the real world.

    Cheers,

    Leon.

If you get some good weather a must do is Eva Island. I caught my pb Spanish Mack there, 30 kg.
Creek Three is my favourite. When you get up to the rock bar you'll see why.
Some of the best sessions I've had there have been off the beach on an incoming tide at night time. Live mullet and anything can happen.

Leon, a mate and I are heading up for a few days fishing at Hinchinbrook. Will be let you know how we go. Being up there before, I have seen a few boats your size going out to a few spots. As we target the barra, I am not too sure of exact offsure spots, will check it out and let you know.
