Mate since all the rain we have found the run in at night to be the best time for them. Any of the inside bends of the river from the mouth to the highway bridge will hold them and the council chambers is still one of the best spots for them. Blood worms and yabbies is the bait we use and these are purchased from the gem bait and tackle.Jelly prawns are supposed to be a top bait but have never used them myself, if you get yourself a fine scoop net and know where the are some weed beds in shallow water run the net through the weed and have a look through you should have a bunch in the bottom, used to catch them when i was a kid. 3-4 prawns to the hook as they are not very big. Hope this helps.
