Going to fish with 50lb braid and 60lb leader as I'm tired of being smashed up where I fish (rough live reef)....
Any advice on quality would be appreciated ......

Power Pro. Great prices from the US. Excellent quality, very durable.
I use Fins also, has been great. Have just changed to Daiwa Saltiga Boat Braid. It is very nice also.
Mate have you tried just upping the leader strength? Or is it the mainline that is getting trashed?
Sounds like you fish similar country to me, but I'm not on coral reef.
I find 80lb leader will land anything I want to bring to the boat, but 60lb will get rubbed to shreds by decent snapper. I'm only using mono leader, you could probably go 100lb with that nice flash flouro stuff! Having said that I believe those coral trout are dirtier fighters than the old snapper....
Cheers and good luck.
' cringes ' fins! ' cringes ' personally not a fan.
so far for braid in 50lb ive run alot and have 2 picks
1. daiwa new tournament hyper pe accu depth around 100 buks for 300 yards i beleive .27mm thick for 50lb very very thin so far not a problem.
2. spiderwire code red in 50lb very smooth have had it for over 5 months now no fade whatsoever or fraying i beleive around 50 buks for 300 yards
thats my 2cents

Power pro or tuff best abrasive braid. There s a reason why gt popppng fisherman use it
I'd be paying more attention to the rod and reel combo than the braid
Sounds like you need a jigging outfit equivalent that can pull more drag than the tld / live fibre combo?
Franco has a point. Sounds like a move to 50lb braid is needed but as well as that have you considered a dedicated bottom fishing reel?
A decent reel with higher gear ratio might help get more line on the fish and keep it's head tyurned when you do get it to turn.
Maybe the Tyrnos would be abetter option and a smaller size since you'll be trying braid. Just be sure not only to check gear ratios but actual line retrieval per handle turn. A torium or Trindidad might be even better.
