Looking at upgrading my boat motor and wondering what would a ball park figure for my old outboard be. Its a Yamaha 115hp Oil injected Saltwater Series with about 120 hours. All great condition always stored with covers and serviced regularly.

Confucius says.........."Before man become master fisherman, man must become master baiter".
Great motor and still fetching very good dough. Cheers
Boat: Seafarer Vagabond
Live: Great South East....love Moreton Bay fishing
It is a 2004 long shaft, i am looking to make the switch over to a four stroke for a bit more range bit limited with a 130l fuel tank. Cheers ill check out ebay now
Not much luck on ebay, anyone else with a rough amount?
$4-6k I had a mate just trade a 135 saltwater merc 2006 in and got $6k
You'll always get a better price on ebay than a dealer. Did you have a look in the completed listings in ebay?
Buy 2 tote tanks run quality oil and keep it so you have the extra range. Good low hour motor. Unless someone offered you silly money and a absolute screaming bargain the change over won't be cheap and you won't ever make your money back on fuel savings unless you do big hours in the future.
Only change if you want extra performance and then you will have to go up HP
Very careful on weight of a 4 stroke on some hulls as well.
I carry 2 cans of 22l strapped on to the sides. When I get out there the fuel goes in via one of those syphon tubes with the marble at one end. MUUUUUCH cheaper than upgrading my fantastic Saltwater Yammie.

Bit off topic but what sort of range does the 115 yamie get on 130ltr?
