Is there anything special you're looking for in an alley boat that we don't have here? I always thought we made some of the best Alley boats in the world here in Aus.

so what happens when you buy one of these flash ally hulls from the US and then in 6 months time it splits or you have major dramas (hypothetically) what happens then??????? will they send it back or will they send a team over to fix it??? i don't think so. If you were going to all the drama of getting a custom plate boat built wouldn't it be wiser to have it locally built regardless if you saved a few grand......... Not trying to upset people who have done this but i think it's a pretty big gamble.
Morning,
One option that is worth while looking at if you can not get the style of boat you want in Alloy from local builders is to get in contact with a Naval Architect and have him design and draw up exactly what you want then get prices from some of the local enginering companies to build it for you.
I think from memory to get plans drawn up from scratch it works out to about 2 to 3 %of the total cost of the boat build
I'm yet to see a American alloy boat that wasn't a slab sided pretty plain and dated looking design that needs heaps of horse power , I have always thought that we always had it all over the yank's when it comes to alloy boats. Plus I like to see Australians get the work as I think we have some of the best tradesman around even if it does cost a bit more sometimes to buy locally Just my opinion.
Thank's
Gary
