    Fuji IPS reel seat

    Are these reel seats strong enough for offshore use??

    Would be using a 4500 Catalina reel and going to try the new St Croix NSi offshore blanks. The model I'm looking at has a butt measurement of 15.2mm, so a IPS will fit.

    Adam it shouldn't be a problem. The weakest link should never be your real seat! You will, more than likely, lose guides before hurting the seat. Depends on what line weight you will be using and what you are targetting. I wouldn't be using it for GT or any major bruiser but for most mid range fish it shouldn't be a problem.
