Little anecdote to cheer you guys up a bit...
Know someone who recently purchased an ex Bay Islands water taxi for 12 grand. It was one of the 28 foot power cats, in survey for 28 passengers. Fitted with two 2002 200hp Mercs.
When he went over to pick it up from the island, they asked him when he was coming to get the truck and spares. Turns out it came with a 4 ton truck and 3 grands worth of new spares!
Anyway, he sold the 2002 model doncs for $10,000 the pair, sold the truck for $2500, and kept the spares. Do your maths, he ended up with a 28 foot Powercat and 3 grand of spares, and $500 in the bank!!
The boat has now been fitted with 2007 200hp Mercs, and sits on a trailer he bought for $1400.
I try not to be envious of people's luck, but in this case, it is very hard not to be...
Guess you just gotta be in the right place at the right time.
