Wide Caloundra

Just wondering if someone can tell me how far wide caloundra is from hutchies.

Depends where you are heading but generally as the crow flies from Hutchies it is about 12nm

Wide Cal is a huge reef system, it starts about 10-15kms from hutchies and then continues for quite a few kms. Heaps of ground to find along the way as well.

Keith its funny that you are one of the guys to respond to my question, the reason i ask is that i read and kept one of your articles from a magazine relating to the amberjack that frequent the area around this time of the year. I love my jigging and want to tangle with some of these brutes. Mate how long does it take you to get there from scarbrough? Will call you soon if thats ok. I have actually had a few inquiries from blokes who want to fish WC. Good on them. We only have so many fishing trips left in our lifetimes unfortunately so let's enjoy every one of them and make them all an adventure.

For me a lot of fishing is about the journey of discovery rather than the brag board at the end. But it don't hurt the ego to be photographed with the big 'un or a bag out either now and again!

One of the blokes who emailed me I haven't seen since my hockey days 20 odd years ago. I made a lot of friends through hockey and have made even more friends through fishing. Gidday Murray. I emailed Pav today that you had made contact. Hopefully we will all have a fish and relive past glories soonest.

I still like to think we are all fishos together, even if at times I try to stick up for my rights to go to work. Its about being able to go to work. It ain't personal. I'd rather be fishing like the rest of us..........
