Aftermarker Oil filter for 60hp Yamaha

    Hi All,

Anyone using a aftermarket filter on the 60hp Yamaha 4 strokes? I started looking at genuine ones from overseas and then found that Hi-Flo and K&N make aftermarket filters. The Hi-Flo's are quite a bit cheaper and I have used them in my bikes with no problems.

    Thanks

Personally I work in the motorcycle Industy as a parts manager, for me when it comes to oil filters I would never waste my time with anything other than genuine. It's just not worth it, for Honda m/cycles the price difference is like $3-$4. It not like your replacing a filter every week, I'm sure if you bulked buy from a dealer you would get a respectable discount.

Did you know that hi-flow gets the boxes that contain the oil filter made in Italy (off memory) they do this so they can print mate in Italy on the box when really they come from china lol (nothing wrong with it just sleazy tactics).

$25 for a oil filter is not allot of money and have the peice of mind of no problems, I am a mechanic and still use genuine filters, the honda filter also fits the F60 if you have a problem getting them.

Thanks for thats. I've since found genuine ones for under $10 and if I buy 10 or so the freight is only $4 a filter. Living in Weipa I know at least 5 other people which will take a couple off me, so thats the I'm heading. They are $30 from our local.

Don't bother. The Z386 Ryco or equivilant which suits the Toyota Corolla is the same.
