Somerset Boating Restrictions

Hey All!
I was planning on heading out to Somerset on Wednesday afternoon, and do some redclawing all evening and night, then head home the next morning. I was going to stay at the Somerset Holiday Park so that I could just roll out my swag on the bank when I had finished fishing. I just gave them a call and the lady told me that there was no boating on the dam between 6pm and 6am, which pretty much buggered my plan. She told me the reason for this was that there was an "incident" on the dam last winter that made SEQ water shut down the dam to boats during the night. Does anyone know what this muppet did, or the "incident"?
It always takes one to bugger it for everyone else...

I was going to spend a night on the boat with the better half about a year ago and found out your cant stay out on the water, I even asked if i could pay for a permit and they said you cant get one.. which sucks and I haven't been back since.

Yeah its probably to make sure one does not piss or crap in the dam.

For the life of god i can not see how a cow can use a public toilet .

It's more likely to do with the incident at wivenhoe dam . and someone died.

If sharefarmers was the problem the logan river will be closed between 6pm and 6am

Boating has not been permitted at night on Lake Somerset for years. I probably wasn't enforced heavily, but it was always a rule.

Its to stop accidents, boats hitting trees etc & if something happens at night they have to call in a S&R chopper at a couple of grand an hour.
