I've lived there all my life and found some of the biggest bream around most of the rocky headlands around the beaches all the way from Emu Park to Yeppoon. Best fishing was on the incoming tide on full moon

There is a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot
I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges
Up here we Use Hussar as baits for real RED FISHS (SHSIIFDER)
Yeah the headlands are good for picking a few up. Also got a few at coorooman ck between svendsen rd ramp and the timbers, and also the bottom end of corio just fishing of the bank and in the boat.
thanks for the help guys. Il try a few headlands and see how i go. Also what do you find works better sp's hard bodys or blades?
Hi, im from sunshine coast queensland, Im tippin the best lure would be 3 berkley gulp pumkin seed minnow works a treat everywhere, 4-6lb vanish leader and generally a smaller jig head.

thanks fishinwahbee il get a pack next time im at bcf and have you ever used the little bream blades and have you had any luck?
Cheers david
I fish both sp and hardbodies off headlands. The gulp is ok when the water is clear, but you need hards in the dirty water. I do catch bream, but they are probably only bycatch after all sorts of other critters. Cod, salmon, flathead, sea pike, qeenies, barracuda, barramundi, trevally, steelbacks, mackerel, even whiting. Pity I don't live down south where I could catch more bream.
cheers mate and we all wish we were up north so we could catch some of those by catches!
No sorry mate never really used hard bodies
Hi Redone, the little tt blades work real well, my son won't use anything else. tend to lose a few to flathead, salmon and small barracuda. I have been using the little ecogear sx40's and the bream love them, but the most fun is on the little ecogear surface prawn imitation, fun watching the bream fight over it. won't work everyday so take along some gulp shrimps, plenty of bites but a bit harder to hook fish than on the hard bodies or blades in the beginning. they tend to school up a lot more as it gets cooler especially around the full moon. good luck scott.
Thanks for that scott, how much do those surface grubbs cost?
had a perv at a video on youtube of them and they seem to work really well!
i have a few local cq bream spots all very similar to the types of structure that you would find in the southern areas....
the timbers at corrooman has always held bream and if you can get a boat head to fishing creek which has a number of ramps called kellys landing, corbetts landing and corio bay...this is all up on the road to waterpark north of yeppoon. me and my dad used to have one majic bream spot at the mouth of a creek inlet up there from corbets landing and would constantly come home with feeds of bream all healthy and some very nice fish!!been a long time since i did that though but i am gogin to check it out again soon
i also not long ago was at ritamada rd at the end and walked out with some very small livies with the light gear left it a bit late in the day as i was only exploring but i got a big bream and could see more flashing in the incoming tide surf splash..then just on dusk got busted off and had to call it quits...tide comes in fast but definitley worth a look
it always pays to go a little heavier with your line and gear up here though as the bi-catches like flathead, salmon, jack, moses, grunter even barra will take most of the things you will cast and i think i myself will alyways at least have a go at them on light gear then die wondering!!!
there is plenty of bream around but you will find that alot of people up here target the bigger more prestigious catches in the area and i know blokes that throw bream back!!
if you want some more details on the spots i can let you know ..this being said its been about 5 years since i have fished any of it because we sold the tinny for a reef boat...i miss the tinny these days!!
good luck ..
redone ,
I fish blades quite oftern work a treat, the common size which i would use is 1/8. Double hop the blade of the bottom and let it flutter down again. Berkley big eye baldes are the best. For hard bodys Atomic hards or stiffy minnows and poppers. Try this link for more info: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZ3bfea8F2k or fishing the berkley bigeye blade with brad hodges.
