    GPS not working.

Guy's me boat came with an old Garminn 45 GPS, but it won't find satelites anymore! did some one switch them off a while ago?
All the routes and maps are still there cleaned the aerial conections but no satelites any one know what gives ? or is the old Garmin just stuffed?

Is that the old white one with the flip up antenna. I think they had a demo mode. I reckon you would have tried it but check to see it is in or defaulting to satellites off.

We used to have these models at work and they did this if they had not been used for a fair while. They need to rebuild their almanac. Leave it out (turned on) in clear view of the sky for a few hours. It will start tracking satellites progressively and rebuilding it's library on them. We used to be able to quicken the process by keying in approx co-ordinates for your current position. Also make sure it is set on an Australian projection. if they have been turned off for a while, they sometimes drift to other settings.

Thanks mate all good now! yup had to find the manual and re set to auto locate which clears old memory and data and searches with a fresh memory.

Now takes only minutes to start up now.
