    Re: catching live bait?

Look for a bait school on your sounder then drop over a bait jig into the school, jig it up and down a few times and wind it in when you feel them on the little hooks. I did it for the first time last week, easy part is getting them, hard part is finding them on the sounder.

Mate if you have a cast net there is usually big schools of hardy heads cruising up and down the Mooloolaba river( from the boatramp to the mouth)

You could try around the shark nets etc off mooloolaba or out round the 50m line seems to hold a fair few in patches

Hi mate, I see you own a quintrex in your DP are they any good we are looking to buy one soon As we think they look great for offshore. Ive heard alot of bad reports the most common problem seems to be cracking welds?????

hey fishinwahbee, i have only had the boat for just over a month but its been great for everything we have done and it is really stable at rest, yer it might not ride as well as a fiberglass boat but if u drive it right its not a bad ride at all, i bought it off a guy that has had it since new, about 10years n he has never had a problem wit welds but i cant say every quinny is good, but every one i have had is... my boat is a 6m ocean sport n i cant fault it, loads of fishing room to, i usually go out wit myself and 3 others 3 of us r over the 100kg mark and the 130hp yammy pushs it along awesome, usually off shore we cruise at about 40km/h
anyways hope this helps u mate but just remember take it off shore first make shore your happy with dont do a 5 or 10 min run give it a good 45min or so and write a list of things u want to ask about it and things u want to try, weather it bar crossing or drivng different ways though the swell, if u go prepered u wont get cought out with things later,

oh and i looked for this boat for 14 months before i found the right one, just so u know,

    cheers brenno,
