Took a mate out who is a seasoned fisho to show him the plastics around the islands and he had a ball. I got out the 3 inch naturals until dusk then nuclear chickens (prawns) and 4 pound leaders and we got smashed a few times but landed a few. I set the hook into a fish and handed it to my mate and said have a go at this one (brim rod 2 pound fireline crystal and biminy to 4 pound leader and he was going for it) Thinking it was a snapper and he would only loose it to the small gear up it came a 50cm sweety and we landed a few brim to 35cm and just over plus my ol mate snapper legal but photo and straight back (took that better than i thought) and the brim ran like they were on a mission in 10 to 15 feet of reef and smoked a few times so not an empty trip but always fun showing what these fandangle plastics can do when in a good time and tide. Most people i show wont ever try it again only with me but it is easier than some think once you have the spot and tide woked out. Heres a few photos of the trip.
