    Report Offshore Moreton Straddy Today

    Hello Fellas,
This will be a short and sweet as I am ready for bed, but if your heading out tomorrow may be a bit of insight....

Had Wardy, Timiboy, Tropicrows on board as we left Manly at 5am this morning. The run accross the bay was fantastic to say the least with us cruising accross at 30+knots. Lots of livies at the beacons and we soon had our share. We trolled off Cape Moreton with a beatiful day but not much action before Bruce christened my new rod on a decent Mac Tuna. We headed to Tempest area and Bruce landed a horse Amberjack his PB he says. I have attached a clip of it below. Fishing was fairly quiet and limited due to the current closures so trolling and live baiting was our plan.
We decided to head to the wave rider (pt Lookout)for a bit of a look and Wardy picked a nice Dorado off the FAD with a livie, I will also attach a small vid for that too.
Called it a day around 3pm 220km later and 200 litres lighter and headed home through the sth passage bar, swell was small and no wind so the call was made to head through the Amity Channel, still shallow but passable in todays conditions.
All in all Aberjack, Dolphinfish and mac Tuna to add to todays catch, as per usual a few fish lost but thats catching....err fishing.
I would have liked to put a bit of humour into this report but I am falling asleep as I type.
I am mucking around with my GoPro video camera so the raw footage has no music and very low sound as its in a waterproof case.

Nice fish fellas. The conditions look pretty darn good as well. I probably would have grabbed a gaff and nailed that Dollie first pass rather than playing games with the net though

Good stuff team. The Go Pro definitely seems the goods Marty. I might have to get one myself. I'll have to mount it in the boat somewhere in the boat as I'm on my own most times.

Conditions were better yesterday than Wednesday which shows in your videos.

I note the camera man (Marty) like to make small cameo appearances in his vids. Very funny. Don't just tell us you were checking the lens was clean Marty.

Hey - how many hours you got up on the Yammy now Marty. I'm in the 80's already. Yikes...

I'm supe keen on chasing those Dorados as I've never caught one.

    Cheers,

    Rhino....

Yes Neil, I don't even have a net on ReBait. It's either Gaff or leader landed.

Thanks Marty, nice camera work. Good work the rest of you ferets.

I'll have to have a look at that camera setup Marty.

Good luck today at the " spot ".................

Not biting. I know what I'm doing. Never lost a fish when netting or gaffing.

And thanks Marty for another stonker day. I'm really impressed with your approach to crossing the bar. A fine Skipper, imo. I learn't something.

I'm getting sick of fishing plastics and jigs and watching you bastards catch the fish. I might have to try baits again one of these days!

Big thanks to Marty, Wardy & Timiboy for a great day out on the water. The AJ was a PB by a country mile for me, just over 1 meter long with an estimated weight of 12kg maybe a bit more???

Liked the vid mate but who was the guy in the orange T shirt that kept poping up. Looking forward to the pic's, can you also email me the vid & pics.

Marty's new outfit made short work of the mac tuna and got me thinking, I was going to buy a Torsa 20 but now ????? maybe a talica 16II.

I was stuffed last night and hit the sack by 8.30, good luck on Friday fellers I'll be a work resting.
