Is the coast guard out of ingham only open on weekends? i'll be there the week before easter so I'd like to be able to log onto the CG if the weather is good mid week? what about calling up for a tow?

I do not know if they are open on a weekday for logging on or off but the radio will relay to Mackay cg for tows and rescues 24/7 when the ingham cg is unmanned then they will call in a crew and come out .but not sure on what hours they are manned or if you can log on and off with the relay to mackay

Logging on and off is no issue, I can use a family member for that.
I'd feel safer if they can at least be contacted via radio in case i needed a tow or help, so relay to mackay /townsville is good.
Townsville I believe is not 24/7 . but when Ingham go home the switch/relay the radio to Mackay . the system does work I have seen them towing a boat home at 2 in the morning midweek . the other option is to ring the coppers if you have phone coverage and they will get the cg to come and get you .
