Thread: Prop Selection

    Prop Selection

My brother is getting a Hooker 6.7 WRC built and is throwing a 225 Suzuki 4 banger on the back.

Any suggestions as to what prop might best suit?

(if anyone has the same or similar rig with the 225 Zuke - would be keen to hear what prop you run - or what props you tried before settling on your current one).

    Cheers,

Give Barney's Marine at Harvey Bay a call. He has a 6.7 with a suzuki 250 I think and is the dealer their for hooker boats. Nice boat btw he will love it.

    Re: Prop Selection

Boat Scene tried to tell us a few years ago, that if you don't know what prop to put on ya boat, you shuldn't be driving one....
Quay marine were good for the lending of props but they are long gone now.

Hooker would have fit a 225 zuk up to one of these before. Ask their opinion or maybe if they can ask another owner for you?

If you have trouble tracking down info, I'd say a suzuki's 21.5 pitch would be a good starting point, maybe it might go as high as a 23 pitch 3 blade.

    Re: Prop Selection

    Cheers Guys.

Hooker referred us to the local dealer.

Just wanted to get some other opinions - as some dealers will recommend what they have on the floor rather than maybe what is best suited for the boat. Yet to see what the Dealer recommends in this instance though.

Not a lot of trolling Byron - more loading up for trips up and down the west side of Cape York out of Weipa!!
