Got a new riptide terrova with a quick release bracket and I am wondering if I should remove it from the boat for road travelling or not. It is a proper pain trying to fit it anywhere in the boot or in boat?
No need to remove - just make sure the locking collar is locked into position at the base of the shaft.
Another good idea is to restrain the head of the unit with a rok strap to reduce bouncing - if you have a nearby anchor point like a rail

Ditto to the above, mine travels where is.
I do wrap an occy strap around the head back down under the gunnel to stop it bouncing on long trips, but for local travel dont bother.
