135 optimax air hose

Hi all,
Anyone have any knowledge on these motors, I had a problem last week while heading to Pearl Channel, had to be towed in by coast guard. The air hose between air compressor and fuel/air rail had moved up to bottom of air compressor pump pulley which in turn rubbed through air line causing what I thought was fuel spirting out under pressure under engine cowl ? would this be possible. Very dangerous situation. any ideas. I will be replacing hose, just want to make sure fuel in this hose is normal.
