With the great weather forecast, i'm looking at doing a river season say mid saturday for session. Is there any places to cast for live herring, prawns and mullet where i won't loose my cast net and which is the best tide for getting them.
Also what is a good place to catch threadies near the gateway. I have seen boats at the north pillon. Any hints.
From what I've seen Tim ... I'm not sure you need help ... not with the fishing anyway! Good luck mate, the water was very dirty and fresh last weekend, so dirty in fact that a 50cm Luderick decided it wanted my 3" Shrimp ... maybe he couldn't see where he was going.

Isnt there herring and poddy mullet round the ramp/little beach thingy at the Colmslie Ramp?
Mat. Catching a thready in the River is easy. But catching them at different spots is the challenge. With the weather forecast tomorrow, if it's not raining i may be out with my boy as the deckie. Looking at the gateway area only . Got a new bait net on ebay $22.
I also heard TIM D is the expert in thready.
Mike - i knew there were prawns on the colmslie ramp but didn't know there was poddy and herring. Will give it a go. I'm actually afraid of loosing my cast net.
