Advice on Painting my Yalta please.
Hi Guys,
Been contemplating what to do with my boat (Yalta189, 5.5m). I bought it last year and it was a little rough but good price and late model good motor. Anyway it needs a bit of TLC and most of the things I can do but painting is not one of them. It does require some patching and repairs on the boat from the usual wear and tear that a 20 year old boat would cop but nothing to serious.
I could probably spend hours with the nappy sand rubbing out stains and then hitting it with a buff as it has not had a polish for a while but I have never been a huge fan of the colours on the boat and a new paint job would make it feel like a new boat.
I have looked around on the net but I only seem to find the bigger boat yards who specialise in big yachts and would probably be expensive. I also ran a search through the forums but I couldn't find much info.
So I guess I want to know has anyone had a glass boat painted and what sort of coast would it be? Does anyone know someone who does this or would be interested in the job? I am at Redcliffe. Just not sure where to start.

Re: Anyone want to paint my Yalta?
May pay to discuss the project with either Grand Marlin or Blackened, both members on here, who work on fixing( GM) and detailing (Blackened) glass boats. There is a lot of work involved in preparing and painting a hull. There have also been a number of people who have had problems with chipping on painted hulls.
