furuno transducer V airmar

Gday guys, just a quick question, is the Airmar
p66 the same transducer as the Furuno 525T-PWD?
I am not after speed, just temp and depth etc. Does the Furuno come with the kick up mount like the Airmar?
Alos I currently have an old Furuno 520??? transducer from an old sounder that works but does anyone know how powerful those transducers were? 600w?

As far as i know all Furuno's trannies are airmar's.

Yes - a 525t pwd is actually an airmar p66. Your basic dual freq trasom mount 600W tranny that matches to a furuno 620 or 585.

This is my understanding anyway, i ordered my tranny as a "furuno 525t pwd" and it has airmar p66 stamped on it.

Yes - have a flip up meschanism if you hit something.

Gday Lee is the 520 ducer is that an inhull type?
If so it will be the 520-IHD which is 10 pin and dual frequency 600watter
From memory think Airmar called it the P79

Frank, no mate the 520 is a transom mount and off an old LS6000 I had on an old tinny. I am guessing it is about 10 years old and only has Furuno markings on it and no Airmar id. It is shaped like a slice if cake with quite a sharp leading edge onto the actual bit that does the performing.

How many pins in the plug?

Yeh mate its a 10 pin plug and it works ok because I tried it on Monday. just curious as to whether it is 600w or not???

Pretty sure all 10 pin plugs are 600 watts and duel frequency

I use my P66 off a my old LS6100 on a 620 I bought a few years ago.
When I went through the excerise it was my understanding the P66 was suitable up to 600w.
Thats why I just upgraded my head unit.

Cheers guys, I havejust ordered a new P66 to be sure. Dont want the hassle of running and old one all through the boat just to have it stuff up in 6 months.
