    new boats first run,

    hey everyone

took my new 6m quinny out today, conditions were awesome, had a few troubles at the ramp first thing this morning, mainly a flat battery stopping us from starting the out board, (stupid me forgot to put it on charge last night) lucky the cruiser has 2 in it, banged one of them out and away we went, now driving it back on the trailer when we got back well its goin to take me a while before i can do that right,

headed out of caloundra and was heading to the 5mile, but got out to the fiar way beacon, that had heaps of boats around, but there was so much chopp for tuna i think, couldn't actually catch any??? we were dead set not even 10m from theme at times n couldn't get them to take any of the slugs or lures we thought, can anyone tell me Wat works i have never caught them before....

anyways drifted around there for a few hours bottom bashing and came up wit 1 really good grassy, and one that only about 40cm but still good, also got a decent maori cod, and a few hussar, all in all boat handled great im very happy with it, and it turned out to be a pretty good day, cant wait for the next trip,

    cheers brenno

Conrats on the new boat. Plenty of Quinnie knockers around here but my old FreedomSport 480 did everything I ever asked of it - never faltered.
    Cheers

    Re: new boats first run,

Good to hear you're enjoying the new boat mate - there will always be a few little tricks to work out but lol. Any grassie over 40cm is pretty good in my books mate and top eating. Not sure if quintrex trailers are really designed as drive on though, unless you have aditional rollers to guide it and the way they are set up with skids instead of a full roller setup. Not saying it can't be done though, plenty of people do it.

Cheers for the report, can't wait to get out there again myself

P.S As for the tuna, sometimes they wont play the game but usually they are easy as to catch throwing slugs, esp if they're mac tuna, try a heap of different size slugs, usually around the 30 - 40g in the deep blue works for me or half a floating pilly

Yeh, its takes some practice. After a while you wont ever wet your feet again !

    PS.. Try using a 10 or 15g slug .
